Method of Solid Handling:
- Materials not agitated:

Batch
type: These types of dryers are used for small amount of wet materials at a
time. Here the drying process takes place by part and the whole material is
divided and dried in different batch.
Example: Tray and compartment
dryers, freeze dryers, vacuum dryers, etc.

Continuous
type: In continuous dryers, the drying process is continuous manner i.e. the
materials are not dried part by part rather the whole bulk of the material is
dried at a time.
Example: Tunnel dryers, drum
dryers, belt dryers, festoon dryers, etc.
